Ohayashi Tosses No-No Against Pineapples Thursday, September 22nd , 2039 In a dominant outing, Toshimichi Ohayashi of the Mokule'ia Oceanic totally silenced the bats of the Lana'i City Pineapples, finishing with a no-hitter. In the Oceanic' 5-0 victory, Ohayashi faced only 28 batters, surrendered no hits, had 13 strikeouts and 1 walk. "Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning," Mokule'ia manager Mark Richardson said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten, and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any." Commenting on the defeat, losing manager Butch Corrigan had a "pretty simple" analysis of the game. "The Oceanic had all the hits and all the runs, so they won," he snapped. "But yeah, Ohayashi pitched a heck of a ballgame." So far this season Ohayashi has a record of 8-4 with 117 strikeouts and 39 walks in 118 innings and a 3.28 ERA. View Boxscore |
