Hwa Red-Hot, PL Player of the Week Monday, March 22nd , 2038 Dae-su Hwa must have thought he was in seventh heaven this week. First he went on a sensational hitting spree, belting the ball at a .462 pace, then the Jeju City University right fielder finds out he has been selected the top performer and gets the Pacific League Player of the Week Award. Asked what his hitting philosophy was, Hwa quipped to the BNN reporters, "Well, my theory of hitting is to just watch the ball as it comes in and hit it." It was a good week's work for Hwa. He hit .462 average (12-for-26) with 5 home runs and 10 RBIs. This year Hwa has collected a .324 batting average to date with 22 hits in 68 at-bats, 19 RBIs, 9 home runs and scored 15 times. He has played in 20 games. |
