Hoshino 5-for-8 Against Sarnia Canada Friday, May 27th , 2039 The Waseda Bear stopped the Sarnia Canada Baysiders by a score of 3-2 at Bayside Ballpark today, with the lion's share of the credit going to second baseman Akira Hoshino. The 19-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits. "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Hoshino said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard." Hoshino did just that in his 8 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Baysiders. "Not much that I can say," offered Sarnia Canada manager Frank Lowe. "He just hammered the heck out of us." Akira Hoshino flied out in the 1st, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, flied out in the 9th, singled in the 11th, grounded out in the 13th, singled in the 15th, doubled in the 18th and singled in the 20th.
