Sarnia Canada Wins Round 3 Crown Sunday, May 29th , 2039 With a 6-5 win over the Waseda Bear tonight at Ballpark of Sasebo College, the Sarnia Canada Baysiders wrapped up their 2nd title in team history. Sarnia Canada left little doubt who was the better club. "Team" was the word of the day as the Baysiders celebrated the culmination of their banner year in the victors clubhouse following the game. "Hitting, pitching, fielding; those are all things you need to win, but most importantly you need a team, a team that works together toward the same collective goal," said Sarnia Canada manager Frank Lowe. "Our players felt that way all year and they played that way. When one guy had an off day, 24 others stepped up their game and filled the void." A jovial mood filled the air as Sarnia Canada celebrated into the night. The city's mayor said parade plans were underway and a "huge celebration" in the works. "We're going to celebrate our team, our championship Sarnia Canada Baysiders," the mayor said. The champions completed the regular season with a first-place finish in the Atlantic League Ontario Division and a 31-23 record. View Boxscore |
