Spinks Crashes 3 HR Against Strathcona HS Friday, March 14th , 2036 Point Grey HS Hounds left fielder Stephen Spinks sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Strathcona HS Leopards, Spinks told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Spinks pushed the Hounds past the Leopards, 6-5. To go along with the homers, he collected 5 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Spinks told reporters after the game. Stephen Spinks hit a solo-shot off Aaron Gledhill in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Aaron Gledhill in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Lynn Lees in the 5th and singled in the 7th. Presently Spinks is hitting .260 with 3 home runs and 7 RBIs. He has played in 13 games and scored 9 times. |
