Matanzas HS Halts Kiyomizu's Hitting Steak Tuesday, April 20th , 2038 Maybe it really is taboo to talk about a hitting streak before it's over. Hours after speaking to the press about his 20-game hitting streak, Eton center fielder Takeo Kiyomizu went hitless in 4 at-bats today at Rifles Ballpark. The sudden hitting drought came as the Rifles took the 3-0 win over the Matanzas HS El Poeta. "Nope, it's not magic," Kiyomizu said in his postgame press conference. "Nobody jinxed me. Streaks don't last forever. I've heard about it every day for weeks now. My roomie told me to get a hit before every game and wished me luck. I just ran out of hits." This year Kiyomizu is hitting .241, produced 10 RBIs and 1 home runs, scored 17 times and gotten on base at a .301 rate. |
