Great Stroke: Jiménez Gets 5 Hits
Tuesday, April 5th , 2039
After a 5-hit effort to lead Canuck HS's 2-1 victory over the Hildegard Saints, first baseman Jaime Jiménez told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the International High School Athletic Association-level is really something special."

The 15-year-old player earned his accolades today at Seaside Park with a spectacular 5-for-7 game against the Saints.

"His swing is getting there," said Battlecats skipper Ichiyo Sato, who spoke glowingly of Jiménez after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Jaime did that to perfection today."

Jaime Jiménez singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 8th, flied out in the 10th, singled in the 13th and singled in the 15th.

In 32 games this season Jiménez has batted at a .336 pace with 41 hits and 2 home runs.
