Shamrocks Shimeld No-Hits Schooners Monday, April 11th , 2039 In a dominant outing, Joseph Shimeld of the Dublin Shamrocks totally silenced the bats of the Hoorn Schooners, finishing with a no-hitter. In the Shamrocks' 1-0 victory, Shimeld faced only 27 batters, surrendered no hits, had 8 strikeouts and 1 walk. "Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning," Dublin manager Todd Sarkies said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten, and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any." Commenting on the defeat, losing manager Pedro Silva told reporters in the clubhouse that he had a "simple" analysis of the game. "The Shamrocks had all the hits and all the runs, so they won," he snapped. "But yeah, Shimeld pitched a heck of a ballgame."
