Pérez, Hampton Suspended for Fracas Friday, March 30th , 2040 If there wasn't a history between Manny Pérez of Guantanamo HS and Steve Hampton of South Kamloops HS, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 4 and 8 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today. "We're both really competitive," Pérez said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it." Pérez is batting .254 with 1 home runs and 3 RBIs this season. For the year Hampton has saved 0 games while posting an ERA of 0.93 and 12 strikeouts in 19.1 innings. His totals also include a 1-0 record in 8 relief appearances. |
