Pellegrino Tags 3 HR Against Water Buffalo Sunday, April 22nd , 2040 Taitung HS Hermits center fielder Gianfranco Pellegrino had a magnificent game against the Manila HS Water Buffalo today, rocketing three balls out of Taitung Ballpark to help the Hermits take the 9-2 victory. "I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them," he said after the game. "The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves. All three were mistakes." For the game, Pellegrino went 3-for-5 with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives," Taitung HS manager Oscar Olson said later. "Seems like Gianfranco found his home run stroke today." Gianfranco Pellegrino hit a two-run home run off Takanobu Goto in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Takanobu Goto in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Takeji Kobayashi in the 6th and struck out in the 7th. So far this season, Pellegrino has recorded a .299 batting average with 52 hits, 20 home runs, 39 RBIs, 34 runs scored and a .374 OBP. |
