Schooners Advance to Round 2 Thursday, May 3rd , 2040 When the entire season comes down to one game, Seitaro Hayashi said you find out what a team is really about. As it turns out, the Hoorn Schooners are made of fight and tenacity, as the team got by the Guantanamo HS Diamond Cats 2-0 tonight at Ballpark of Guantanamo in order to win the Round 1 and book a place in the next round. "It wasn't hard to get excited for this game," said Hayashi, whose strong offensive output earned him MVP honors. "Our guys answered the call and proved a lot about what our team is all about." Hayashi hit .333 with a .355 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 4 runs. The Hoorn Schooners will play against the Eton Rifles in the next round.
