5-for-5 Day for Rodríguez Saturday, April 9th , 2039 There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day. Ismael Rodríguez is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-5 against the Bellevue West HS Surge at Horizon HS Grounds today. The monster effort from the 18-year-old shortstop helped the Horizon HS Huskies take the win, 13-2. "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Surge manager Greg Rosenblatt. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today." Ismael Rodríguez hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run triple in the 7th. Rodríguez is hitting .344 so far this season with 17 RBIs and 16 runs scored. He has 45 hits including 3 home runs, 6 walks and .377 OBP. View Boxscore |
